* i am currently a part of a painting group that paints a 12 x 12 piece every month and a half. Each member has contributed 5 ideas for themes and we then draw from those to chose the current one to paint. This fourth theme was; nightmare.

In the summer of 1997 I had a horrible dream: I was in a small town in the mountains when the people around me began to run and yell "the crows!" I looked up and in the sky a huge black shape was growing closer and closer, it was a murder of crows. I jumped into my old truck and drove as fast as I could down the dirt roads to my cabin. I ran inside and frantically shut every window. The sky grew darker. I heard a loud thud, looked up and saw a huge black crow looking in at me through the window glass. The crow stared at me and then it spoke, "you may have closed all the windows, but did you remember to lock them?" At this point his huge black wings moved to lift the sash of the window.....

I woke myself up crying.
